Parallel File Systems
Parallel Filesystems belong the the group of allocated filesystems. The have the focus on parallel reading and writing of different sources resp. drains in opposite to standard filesystems of which only one service or server writes on the drain. This means higher performance. In this class different implementations exist, as e.g. LustreFS, GlusterFS, GFS Red Hat and PVFS2. These are the most common implementations in HPC Environment.
